About me
Forester ...
After graduating in Forest Science from the University of Melbourne in 1987, I worked as a field forester in Tasmania and Victoria for a decade, mostly engaged in plantation establishment, land assessment and acquisition, inventory and mapping, road construction, fire protection and seed orchard management.
Lawyer ...
From 1998, I studied law part time, whilst continuing to work full time in forestry. I was admitted to legal practice in June 2005.

Following admission to legal practice, I worked for 15 years as in-house counsel with HVP Plantations, working in contract law, land law, environmental law, rating valuations, OH&S, and the wide range of legal issues that arises from managing land (heritage, fences, compulsory acquisitions and more.) I have frequently worked alongside lawyers from the top tier firms of King and Wood Mallesons and Minter Ellison.

In Private Practice ..

Since establishing my own practice, I have undertaken a similar range of work for a range of timber industry operators, industry bodies and other consultancies. I have been recognised by Forestry Australia as a Registered Forestry Professional and have worked on carbon sequestration projects.
